2024 was a transformative year for CAPSolar: from establishing the first flexible solar panel factory in Quebec to completing unique solar projects, expanding our team, and redefining an ambitious strategy. This year, we reached crucial milestones to solidify our position in the solar industry and address the diverse needs of our clients.
In this recap, we invite you to explore the highlights of 2024: emblematic projects and strategic decisions that illustrate our evolution. We will also share our ambitions for 2025 and the next steps in our journey.
This progress would not have been possible without you. To our clients, partners, and employees: thank you for your support. Happy reading!
Launching In-House Production
2024 was a foundational year for our production department. In March, our production line officially started. This new factory was key to delivering innovative solar projects for various applications. Throughout the year, we produced a wide range of solar panels tailored to diverse applications. We manufactured flexible solar panels in different colors—black, white, transparent, and blue—with unique shapes and customized durability to meet specific needs.
These unique projects tested our expertise and pushed us to innovate to address the demands of various industries. “Seeing the first panels come off the production line was a proud moment for the entire team. It reflects the realization of our collective efforts,” shared Xavier, Head of Production.
To support this growth, we welcomed new talent to our team, including Maxime, Quality Manager, and Rodrigue, Production Operator.
2025 promises to be equally transformative, with the integration of new machines at the start of the year and the automation of our production line. These advancements will exponentially increase our production capacity and agility in meeting increasingly complex demands.
Delivering Unique Solar Projects
In 2024, our solar solutions officially hit the road, with 10 projects completed this year. We equipped towing tractors in the factory of a major Japanese car manufacturer in Texas, refrigerated vans in British Columbia, car-sharing vehicles in Montreal, and trucks for Quebec-based carriers, to name just a few.
Beyond vehicles, we explored new solar applications, such as a mobile stage and a floating solar sphere. Through these diverse projects, we played an active role in the electrification of transportation, notably by increasing the autonomy of electric vehicles and reducing fuel consumption for gas-powered vehicles.
In 2025, we aim to strengthen our presence in the mobility market by offering even more innovative solutions. Our goal is clear: to multiply projects, increase our impact, and continue innovating to transform the solar industry. “Each project is an opportunity to make a difference for our clients and society,” says Samy, CEO and Founder.
Key Innovations in 2024
One of the significant technological advancements in 2024 was the development of a semi-automated welding machine, which, once finalized, will enhance both production capacity and the reliability of our panels. Simultaneously, we worked on smart energy management projects, including a high-voltage charge controller and IT advancements to optimize the performance of our solar solutions.
These achievements were made possible thanks to strategic partnerships with ÉTS, Mitacs, and Novika, which played a central role in developing these innovations. “Every technology we develop directly addresses our clients' needs. We create solutions that combine efficiency, durability, and performance,” highlights Chahine, Head of R&D.
In 2025, we will continue strengthening our position as a technology-driven company by developing even more innovative solutions to enhance our clients' solar experience and improve our internal processes.
Bright Prospects for the Future
As the solar industry evolves, so does our company. In 2024, we redefined our mission, vision, and values to align them better with our ambitions and the realities of the market. Our goal goes beyond manufacturing solar panels. We aim to design solar solutions capable of meeting today’s and tomorrow’s energy needs.
This evolution was made possible with the support of partners like C3E, IQ, and BDC, who provided us with a financing of $1 million. This financial support has accelerated our growth and development in terms of production and commercialization. However, to achieve our ambitious growth targets, we are preparing for a funding round in 2025 to further accelerate our progress and make solar energy accessible everywhere, for everyone, and for all applications.
As we close the chapter on 2024, we want to express our gratitude to those who make this journey possible. To our team, who bring our ambitions to life. To our clients and partners, who trust us to tackle bold challenges. And to you, who follow and support our evolution: thank you.
2024 was just the beginning. CAPSolar continues to push boundaries and build a more sustainable future. ☀️
